To improve results for patients who have lost most or all of their teeth, Oak Park Dental can provide partial, immediate and conventional dentures. Partial dentures usually consist of replacement teeth attached to gum-colored plastic bases, which are then connected to your natural teeth with metal clasps or devices called precision attachments.
Generally more esthetic than metal clasps, precision attachments is nearly invisible. Immediate dentures are inserted immediately after the removal of any remaining teeth, which means you will not have to be without teeth during the healing period.
To provide you with immediate dentures, your dentist will take measurements and make models of your jaw during preliminary visits. Since bones and gums shrink over time, we recommend having a reline done approximately six months after the extractions.
